Hassan Shehata is no longer Zamalek's coach following his club's 1-0 loss to Al Ahly in 2012 Caf Champions League action, the White Knights' official website has announced
This marks the second time this year that Shehata has tendered his resignation. He last stepped down following a substitution spat with star winger Shikabala during another Champions League match against Maghreb Fes. However, this time it appears unlikely that he will reconsider his decision.
Shehata took his team to the Egyptian Cup final last season but struggled to keep the team afloat as it dealt with internal problems and coped with the cancellation of the Egyptian Premier League following the Port Said incident. It is thought that Tarek Yehia is a favourite to replace him at the helm of Zamalek.
