Barcelona have made a 14m euro (£11.6m) down-payment to Brazilian club Santos for 20-year-old forward Neymar, reports Spain’s biggest radio station Cadena Ser.

There probably isn’t a more trumpeted young footballer on planet earth right now but the talented young Santos is very much worthy of almost all the hype. The 20 year old is apparently at the centre of a tug of war between Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona and talk of the Nou Camp side agreeing a down payment for the prolific marksman may well spur Jose Mourinho’s side into action.
Neymar has notched up a hugely impressive 90 goals in 169 appearances for Santos and eight goals in 16 appearances for the Brazilian national team.
There are reports suggesting that the youngster will wait until after the 2014 World Cup, hosted by Brazil, before leaving for Europe but it seems far more likely he will leave long before then.
